How to Find the Right Dentist

  • If our clinic was unable to provide you with a reference to a dentist that is trained to safely remove silver amalgam fillings, go to the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology (IAOMT) website at http://www.iaomt.org. The website has a dentist finder for locating IAOMT trained dentists in the United States, Canada, and internationally.
  • Do not use a dentist who does not use a removal protocol from the IAOMT, Huggins approaches or the protocol that we have provided you below. Improper removal can make you very sick, increase your current symptoms, and expose your body to high levels of mercury.
  • Our clinic will provide you with instructions for the Pre and Post Amalgam Removal Protocol to complete before and after each removal appointment. If you do not have these instructions please call our office or set an appointment to meet the doctor. There is a supplementation program you must follow before and after your removal(s) are completed.
  • If your current condition is advanced, our clinic recommends that you complete a dental compatibility test (e.g. Clifford Test) prior to replacing your fillings. The compatibility test will check your bloods' antibody reaction against thousands of different dental materials. The dentist will choose materials from the test that have the best compatibility with your body. Ask your dentist for this blood test kit.

Preparing the Body

Erb Family Wellness has outlined detailed instructions that will ensure that your gastrointestinal system, liver, and kidney are prepared to safely and effectively adapt to silver/mercury amalgam removal.

  • Schedule your initial removal date approximately 30 – 45 days after beginning our “Pre Amalgam Removal” protocol. Some removals take several visits depending on the number and location of your fillings. A dentist that understands proper amalgam removal can determine if this is necessary. Continue supplementation until all your amalgams are removed.
  • Our clinic will provide you with instructions for Chelation to be completed 4 days after your last removal. If you do not have these instructions please call our office or set an appointment to meet the doctor. There is supplementation you must take immediately after all of your removals are completed.
  • 4 – Days after your final amalgam removal appointment (not any sooner) you must start metals Chelation.
